Day one of Beauty Expo Melbourne leaves the industry buzzing
Saturday 24 March 2018
Day one of Beauty Expo Melbourne proved a hit for Victorian beauty professionals, who shopped, networked, and experienced new trends and inspiration at the region’s premier boutique trade show for the industry.
“Seeing Beauty Expo Melbourne take shape has been so rewarding and after such an exciting day here at the MCEC, I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring”, said Cory Watson, Beauty Expo Melbourne’s Event Director. “Our exhibitors have some incredible innovations on offer and you can see that visitors are coming along to soak up as much as they can. The feedback we’ve had so far suggests they are leaving feeling motivated about what’s ahead for their businesses and inspired about what they can achieve in their careers”, concluded Cory.
Highlights from day one included key learnings from leading makeup artists from MAC Cosmetics, Carol Mackie and Nicole (Pinky) Thompson, who led educational sessions designed to provide makeup artists with an inside look at how to achieve success in what can, at times, be a challenging industry. MAC Cosmetics is exhibiting for the first time at Beauty Expo Melbourne in 2018, a big drawcard for visitors. Tomorrow, Carol and Pinky will take a half-day workshop for medium to advanced level makeup artists, where participants will see live demonstrations and have a chance to get their own brushes dirty.
There was plenty of live-action for visitors to experience on the show floor, with two HUB stages providing a schedule of free presentations and demonstrations on topics in Anti-Ageing and Makeup & Grooming. The GenNEXT Makeup Competition, running for the first time at Beauty Expo Melbourne, helped to elevate the younger generation of professionals by providing a platform for participants to showcase their skills to the industry.
Beauty Expo Melbourne visitors can unwind, socialise and network with their peers tonight at the official Hair & Beauty Welcome Party, hosted at Crown Metropol’s 28 Skybar Lounge, with views of Melbourne’s CBD. The event is proudly sponsored by Timely.
Beauty Expo Melbourne will open for day two on Sunday 25 March at 10:00 am, where another full day of learning, shopping and networking will unfold at the MCEC.
Limited tickets for day two are still available for trade professionals at www.beautyexpomelbourne.com.au
